Stress Engineer (3 Year FTC)

Job Summary
The Stress Engineer role involves performing detailed analyses on components and assemblies using Finite Element techniques and hand calculations, and requires collaboration on Naval Projects for UK Defence customers. Responsibilities include analysing mechanical components for various stress factors, assisting in weld type definition, building FE models from CAD assemblies, producing high-quality reports, and participating in design reviews. Mandatory qualifications include a degree in Mechanical Engineering, experience in mechanical component analysis, knowledge of relevant codes, and the ability to obtain security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Honours degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related analytical discipline.
- Demonstrable experience of analysis of mechanical components.
- Able to gain SC security clearance.
- Knowledge of ASME and DNV Codes.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in FEA packages, ideally ANSYS.
- Technical knowledge of rotating equipment, turbines preferably (although not essential).
- Experience in rotordynamics would be an advantage.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards.
Additional Requirements
- Applicants must hold or be capable of getting SC Level clearance as a UK Passport Holder.
- Applicants not cleared will not be accepted into the business until this clearance is provided.
- Dual passport holders are acceptable if the second country is approved by the vetting authority.
