Job Summary
Conduct specialized assessments based on unit Mission Essential Tasks and design evidence-based physical training plans to optimize performance and mitigate injuries. Coordinate individualized exercise programs for injured Marines in conjunction with Athletic Trainers and Force Fitness Instructors, ensuring safe returns to training. Gather, assess, and display data through sensor technology to support Commanders and unit readiness while overseeing assigned equipment and supply inventory. Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to evaluate physical training programs and injury prevention strategies, preparing updates on physical readiness as requested. Provide instruction on applied anatomy, exercise physiology, and injury prevention under operational guidance, maintaining fitness to function in austere environments and hike rough terrain.
Required Qualifications
- US citizen
- Able to read, write, and speak English
- Maintain active BLS through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Bachelor's degree in appropriate field
- Certification as a Strength and Conditioning Coach
- National Strength and Conditioning Coach (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) OR CSCC Strength and Conditioning Coach (SCCC)
- 5 years of demonstrated experience as a strength and conditioning coach
- 12 months of experience in preceding 36 months
- Knowledge of human performance technology and utilization in program design
- Maintain level of fitness that allows individual to demonstrate all prescribed exercises/activities and to hike rough terrain and function in austere environments
- They will be working outside in the elements relatively frequently
- Lift and manipulate weights up to 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Masters preferred
- Experience in military, D1 collegiate athletics, or Olympic/professional level
