Streets Operations Manager, Public Works

Job Summary

Manage Streets Division operations, including pavement and right-of-way maintenance, mowing, snow and ice control, and drainage system maintenance. Oversee Sign Shop operations for printing, construction, placement, and maintenance of road signs, and ensure City vehicles and equipment are properly maintained at the Service Center. Supervise staff, coordinate projects, and drive process improvements to meet operational needs across the City. Maintain infrastructure to high standards while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Work on-call duty rotation and emergency calls outside normal hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and twelve-hour snow routes from November through March.

Required Qualifications

  • A High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Graduation from a regionally accredited four-year institution of higher learning with a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field
  • Direct full-time job-related professional experience of six (6) or more years, may be substituted for the degree requirement
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience in municipal public works management or closely related industry
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position
  • Possession of a valid Class B CDL license or obtain within six (6) months of hire date
  • A passing grade on the written portion of the Class A or B CDL exam is required before employment
  • Be willing to work on the On-Call duty rotation, and emergency calls outside of normal work hours as scheduled. This will include evenings, weekends, and holidays assigned
  • Be willing to work snow routes that include twelve (12) hour shifts during the months of November through March
  • Successfully complete a background investigation, drug and alcohol screenings, and physical agility assessment

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience developing written communications or technical documentation
  • Municipal inspection/observation experience
