Job Summary
Represent the Durham College Student Association at high-energy campus activations, pop-up booths, and tours across Oshawa and Whitby. Proactively engage students to promote events, services, and initiatives while creating a welcoming environment. Assist with planning, filming, and developing social media content for TikTok and Instagram, including appearing in promotional videos. Support event logistics by setting up and tearing down materials and distributing promotional information. Answer student questions about services and direct them to appropriate staff. Maintain flexibility for evening and weekend availability while working collaboratively with DCSA staff and student employees.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current Durham College student
- Naturally outgoing, enthusiastic, approachable, and comfortable speaking with students
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable starting conversations with students and engaging with groups
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, especially TikTok and Instagram
- An interest in trends, student culture, digital storytelling, and content creation
- Reliable, punctual, responsible, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
- Comfortable being on their feet for extended periods of time
- Able to assist with carrying, lifting, and moving event equipment and materials as required
- Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings and occasional weekends
- Demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience creating social media content is considered an asset
