Job Summary

Street Maintenance Worker III performs a range of strenuous labor for city streets and facilities, including setting forms and pouring concrete, laying asphalt, crack sealing, pipe installation for storm sewers and water mains, flagging traffic, operating heavy equipment such as dump trucks and tractors, and performing preventive maintenance on equipment. Requires CDL Group B, 3 years of experience in related labor, ability to read/write reports, knowledge of safety procedures and traffic-sign configurations, and strong customer-service skills. Works within City of Dallas public works and maintenance scope.

Required Qualifications

  • CDL - Group B - Commercial Drivers License
  • 3 Years in experience in low-skilled and unskilled strenuous labor assisting in the cleaning, maintenance and repair of streets, storm drains, sewer lines
  • Knowledge of equipment and tools used in various construction repairs
  • Maintaining and operating hand and power tools
  • Reading, writing, and developing reports
  • Understanding and following drawings, designs, and other oral or written instructions
  • Performing work using large equipment requiring CDL and adhering to safety standards
  • Ability to perform heavy labor for extended periods of time
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships
  • Understanding traffic laws and streets maintenance activities
