Job Summary
Conduct pavement patching, pothole repairs, and heavy equipment operation for city transportation corridors and multi-use paths. Perform street and alley inspections, clearly communicating defects to lead staff, and execute snow and ice control operations with various equipment. Operate hand and power tools for maintenance tasks, including minor preventative work on vehicles, while maintaining accurate records of materials and equipment used. Respond to 100% of snow shifts from October through April and handle 25% after-hours work during irregular hours, weekends, and emergencies. Engage in customer service interactions via CRM correspondence, phone, and in-person contact.
Required Qualifications

- Ability to learn and implement safety practices including situational awareness
- Ability to learn to operate a variety of streets equipment
- Skill in using various Microsoft Office software, such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire
- Must successfully pass a background check before first day of work and maintain acceptable screening
- Must hold and maintain a valid drivers' license
- Commercial Driver's License, Class A or B with tanker endorsement and without restrictions or Permit or new hires have the ability to obtain within nine (9) months with supervisor approval
- American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) Flagger Certification or equivalent certification as a traffic flagger or new hires have the ability to obtain within nine (9) months
- Front-End Loader Certification or new hires have the ability to obtain within nine (9) months
- Skid-Steer Loader Safety Training Certification or new hires have the ability to obtain within nine (9) months
- OSHA 10-hour Training Certification or new hires have the ability to obtain within one (1) year
- Two (2) years' experience in heavy construction
- One (1) year snow plowing experience
- First Aid with CPR and AED Certification
- Commercial Driver's License, Class A or B with tanker endorsement and without restrictions or new hires have the ability to obtain within six (6) months after passing probation
- Three (3) years' experience in heavy construction
- Three (3) years of snow plowing experience
- Ability to demonstrate basic knowledge of chainsaw operation
- Knowledge of basic asset management software
- Knowledge and experience with small equipment (i.e lawn mowers, trimmers, small engines)
- Knowledge and experience with using chainsaws
- Knowledge of safe use of hand tools, commercial and light duty vehicles, outdoor power equipment, and trailers
- Ability to read and understand maps, blueprints, and other construction drawings
- First Aid with CPR and AED Certification
- OSHA 30-hour Training Certification
- One (1) year experience with snow operations
- One (1) year landscaping installation and irrigation experience
- One (1) year experience with hot mix asphalt
- One (1) year of experience in outdoor, physical maintenance or construction with preference given for experience in landscape irrigation including basic knowledge of plant, tree, and weed identification
- One (1) year experience in heavy construction
- Two (2) years' experience with snow operations
- Two (2) years' experience with hot mix asphalt
- Two (2) years' landscaping installation and irrigation experience
