Job Summary
Empty litter bins from roads, CBDs, town centres, and bus shelters; collect bagged refuse and recycling; remove loose litter from footpaths, kerbs, and channels; clear leaf fall and detritus from cesspits; manually sweep traffic islands and hard-to-reach areas with road sweeper staff; clean street furniture, bus shelters, and council assets; and remove graffiti. Report on litter bins requiring maintenance. Full-time and part-time roles require a Class 1 driver's licence, physical fitness, and health and safety commitment. Weekend work may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role, or willingness to learn
- Full Class 1 driver's licence
- ability to drive a manual
- Be physically fit and mobile
- able to do physical work
- Have a commitment to health and safety
- legal right to work in NZ
- pass a drug and alcohol test
- provide two reference checks
- some weekend work
Desired Qualifications
- Class 2 licence is highly beneficial
