Job Summary
Produce and host live streaming programming focused on evening and breaking news coverage, owning end-to-end production including editorial planning, technical execution, and on-air presentation. Operate streaming tools for live switching, encoding, clipping, and publishing while engaging viewers through live chat to create an authentic, community-driven experience. Make strong editorial decisions in real time, adjust coverage as news develops, and conduct interviews with newsmakers during live programming. Collaborate with newsroom leadership, digital, social, and production teams to align coverage and maximize content across platforms. Pitch original story ideas, cultivate sources, and fill time confidently during breaking news or technical interruptions. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as breaking news demands.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in digital news, streaming, reporting, MMJ work, producing, or live content creation
- Strong on-camera presence with the ability to communicate naturally in unscripted live environments
- Demonstrated experience producing digital video, live streams, or social-first news content
- Strong news judgment and the ability to make fast editorial decisions under deadline pressure
- Technical proficiency with live streaming workflows including switching, encoding, publishing, clipping, and distribution
- Experience engaging digital audiences and understanding audience retention across streaming platforms
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Background in journalism, broadcast media, digital media, or related field
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other non-traditional hours as breaking news demands

- Experience with TriCaster and Adobe Creative Suite
- A reel showcasing strong live hosting ability and conversational storytelling
- Experience building streaming communities and engaging audiences in real time
- A passion for experimenting with new storytelling formats and digital platforms
- The ability to seamlessly balance hosting, producing, technical execution, and editorial decision-making during live broadcasts
