Job Summary
Lead planning and coordination of daily terminal yard operations aligned with vessel schedules, rail activities, and gate flows; define and execute operational strategies including budgeting, performance planning, and long-term initiatives; optimize yard allocation and resource utilization to meet productivity, safety, and service standards; drive the implementation and continuous improvement of Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) such as Express and SPARCS; monitor performance and ensure system accuracy across platforms; collaborate with internal teams, customers, vendors, and labor unions to maintain efficient operations; develop team capability through coaching of Assistant Managers and a safety-first culture; comfortable with variable shifts, including nights and weekends, in a dynamic indoor/outdoor terminal environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Demonstrated experience in operations planning, logistics, or terminal operations within a complex, high-volume environment
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate teams, delegate effectively, and manage performance
- Solid decision-making and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to analyze operational challenges and implement effective solutions
- Proven ability to build relationships across stakeholders, including internal teams, customers, and labor unions
- Adaptability to dynamic operational demands, including variable shifts and changing priorities
