Job Summary
Execute strategic initiatives driving growth across Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal by evaluating new business opportunities, partnerships, and acquisitions. Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer insight work to identify emerging trends, then build financial models and business cases to support investment decisions. Analyze internal and external data to inform executive decision-making while partnering with leaders across editorial, product, engineering, marketing, finance, and commercial teams. Prepare executive-ready presentations and recommendations, helping drive projects from concept through execution. This broad, high-impact role requires solving complex business problems for one of the world's largest newsgathering operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, corporate development, investment banking, business operations, or a related field
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent research capabilities and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations
- Comfort working with ambiguity and independently driving projects forward
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing materials for senior executives
- Knowledge or experience about digital media and evolving consumer behavior
Desired Qualifications
- MBA or equivalent experience
- Experience in digital media, consumer subscriptions, marketplaces, or platform businesses
- Familiarity with partnership strategy, business development, M&A, or commercial negotiations
- Experience using data and analytics to inform strategic decisions
