Job Summary
Partner with AstraZeneca R&D and external biotechs to develop and implement AI and digital health strategies that accelerate clinical development. Serve as a trusted advisor across clinical development, operations, and medical to shape digital strategies, operating models, and roadmaps. Lead project engagements to deliver digital health solutions for patient recruitment, remote data collection, and ePRO platforms. Define problem statements and vendor landscapes for digital tools including wearables and sensors. Contribute to study protocol design regarding endpoints, sensor selection, and data flows. Support feasibility studies and scaled implementations of digital technologies, including vendor due diligence and data governance. Maintain a pulse on AI trends to drive pragmatic innovations across portfolios. Work in a hybrid model with three days in the Boston office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, engineering, data science, or related field
- 6+ years in Clinical Development, with a strong focus on application of digital health within healthcare (clinical development and/or clinical operations or biomarker strategy)
- AI in clinical development: Strong AI capabilities including demonstrated understanding of the role AI will play in drug discovery and development
- Exceptional project delivery and communication capabilities, with a proven ability to build and maintain trusted relationships
- Experience with one or more therapeutic area, across Oncology, CVRM, Respiratory/Immunology, Infectious Diseases and/or rare disease, where digital endpoints are emerging
- Hands-on involvement contributing to or reviewing clinical protocols and operational plans where digital tools inform endpoints, assessments, or data collection
- Demonstrated significant contributions to projects in clinical development teams, from initiation through delivery
- This is a hybrid position with a requirement to work in our Boston office three days a week
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MS, MPH, PhD, PharmD, MBA) is preferred
- Proven track record evaluating and implementing digital health solutions (e.g., wearables, sensors, ePRO/eCOA, DHT-enabled endpoints, trial delivery capabilities, patient apps/portals), including regulatory knowledge and technical fluency
- Experience in pharmaceutical / healthcare consulting, either as part of a dedicated consulting organisation (eg management consulting firm) or an internal pharmaceutical company consulting function
- Familiarity with eCOA, sensor/wearable trial design and delivery vendors; experience running RFPs and technical due diligence
- Experience with analytical/clinical validation of digital measures, human factors engineering, and usability studies
- Background in product management for digital tools or platforms used in trials or patient support
