Job Summary
Strategy Development Manager role focused on shaping long-term growth and investment decisions for Downer’s Energy & Utilities across Australia and New Zealand. Key responsibilities include building financial models and valuations, leading due diligence for M&A and strategic investments, collaborating with business leaders to develop growth plans, analyzing market and sector trends to identify opportunities and risks, partnering with senior executives to develop sector strategies, and preparing high-quality executive reports and board papers. The position requires translating complex data into clear insights for senior stakeholders and delivering strategic outcomes in an ASX-listed environment. The role offers exposure to executive leadership, career development programs, and internal mobility within Energy & Utilities. The contract is 12 months, with work centered in Melbourne, Australia.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in infrastructure advisory, management consulting, M&A, investment banking or similar
- Experience in energy, water, telecommunications, digital infrastructure and/or industrial infrastructure sectors
- Strong financial modelling, valuation and commercial analysis capability
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, self-driven approach with strong stakeholder engagement skills
