Job Summary
Strategy Analyst role to support pricing optimization, commercial analysis, and business insights across Cengage Group. Responsible for competitive pricing research, market monitoring, pricing diagnostics, data cleaning and analysis, building analytical models and trackers, and contributing to executive-ready presentations. Collaborates with Commercial Strategy, Pricing Strategy, Enterprise Analytics, and Finance to translate data into actionable insights; requires 1-3 years of analytics/strategy experience, strong Excel/PowerPoint, and familiarity with SQL/Snowflake/BI tools. Focus areas include pricing strategy initiatives, whitespace opportunities, market positioning, and identifying key drivers across Higher Education, Workforce Skills, Milady, Gale, and ELL businesses. Emphasizes data-driven problem solving, cross-functional collaboration, and the use of AI where applicable; education technology and SaaS familiarity is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- A four-year college degree
- 1-3 years of professional experience in analytics, strategy, consulting, pricing, finance, business intelligence, commercial operations, or related analytical roles
- Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with SQL, Snowflake, and BI tools
- Ability to work with large datasets and translate findings into actionable insights
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
- Interest in pricing strategy, market analysis, and strategic problem solving
- Experience in education technology, SaaS, subscription businesses, pricing analysis, or commercial analytics environments preferred
