Job Summary

Strategic Technical Account Manager, onsite in Downers Grove, IL, partnering with Sales, Client Success, Managed Services, and Professional Services to translate client business objectives into practical IT strategies. Leads technical discovery, solution design, and roadmaps across cloud, cybersecurity, and infrastructure while serving as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders. Requires 5+ years in technical consulting or related client-facing MSP roles, and a bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred (or equivalent experience). Responsibilities include conducting assessments, shaping scalable solutions, documenting opportunities in the CRM, delivering executive-level presentations, and coordinating cross-functionally to ensure successful delivery and client outcomes. Pays $100k-$130k/year with full-time status; benefits include health/dental/vision, and professional growth opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in technical consulting, pre-sales engineering, technical account management, vCIO responsibilities, or similar client-facing roles within an MSP or IT services environment
  • Experience with PSA platforms, CRM systems, quoting tools, RMM platforms, documentation/knowledge base systems, and related service delivery technologies (experience with ConnectWise strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and MSP service delivery models, including hands-on familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, identity and access management, networking, endpoint management, and security platforms
  • Exposure to AI and automation technologies, including LLMs, AI-driven workflows, and agentic AI platforms preferred
  • Familiarity with industry-specific business applications such as ERP, CRM, MRP, and WMS platforms preferred
  • Experience with or exposure to compliance requirements and/or IT audit practices is preferred
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies and IT service delivery best practices
