Job Summary
Strategic Sourcing Specialist responsible for leading and executing sourcing activities, managing RFx processes, negotiating contracts, and driving Total Cost of Ownership reductions. Develop category strategies aligned with business objectives, manage supplier performance through KPI monitoring, and apply legal/commercial knowledge to contracts. Mentor junior team members and collaborate with stakeholders to optimize supplier relationships and drive cost savings for oil and gas construction and industrial maintenance projects. Requires seven+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary education in business or engineering. Located onsite in Saint John, NB, Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum seven years of experience in the oil and gas industry, focused on construction and industrial maintenance
- Post-secondary education in business, engineering, or equivalent experience
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and cost modeling capabilities
- Proficiency in contract drafting and contract law
- Experience with RFx processes, proposal evaluation, and contract execution
- Ability to develop and steward multi-year category strategies aligned with business objectives
- Strong relationship-building, networking, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
