Job Summary
Strategic Sourcing Lead (Ads & Consumer Verticals) to manage the commercial execution and vendor strategy across OpenAI’s ads technology stack and consumer verticals, with end-to-end deal execution from vendor strategy and RFPs through negotiation, security reviews, contracting, and go-live. Collaborates with Product and Engineering to ensure vendors support new product launches without blocking delivery or increasing risk; builds and manages a multi-vendor ecosystem focused on revenue growth, engagement, and cost optimization; structures contracts and pricing to preserve optionality and scalability; coordinates Security, Legal, and Privacy reviews for regulated data flows; owns vendor lifecycle from onboarding to renewals and re-competitions; acts as the control plane between product teams and external dependencies to balance speed with governance and economics. Requires 6+ years of relevant experience, strong cross-functional leadership, comfort with regulated domains, and a proven ability to negotiate complex agreements; aims to accelerate OpenAI’s mission through better vendor partnerships and scalable execution.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience leading technology partnerships, sourcing, or commercial negotiations
- strong cross-functional leadership and ability to align Product, Engineering, Legal, Security, and Finance
- experience negotiating commercial, technical, and data-driven agreements with technology vendors
- comfortable operating in regulated or high-risk domains (personal financial, health, payments, identity, data)
- track record of accelerating vendor partnerships, faster launches, and revenue-impacting negotiations
