Job Summary
Analyze technical Bills of Materials to determine optimal sourcing strategies for each line item, balancing cost, availability, and lead time. Solicit and validate quotes from OEMs and distributors to secure competitive pricing, while identifying substitute products when primary items present constraints. Evaluate deal registration, special pricing, rebates, and promotions to protect margins and improve deal economics. Collaborate with Solutions Architects and sales teams to identify sourcing risks and negotiate pricing terms with suppliers. Manage a high volume of concurrent quote requests through initial request to final quote completion, maintaining accurate, audit-ready records in accordance with internal policies.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in IT product quoting, procurement, distribution, or a related channel role within the IT/technology industry
- Strong working familiarity with major cable/connectivity and equipment OEMs and national distributors
- Practical knowledge of deal registration, SPA, and competitive/special pricing processes
- Demonstrated negotiation experience with a track record of securing favorable pricing and terms from suppliers
- Strong relationship-building skills, both internally (sales, solutions engineering) and externally (distributors, OEMs)
- Ability to read and interpret a technical Bill of Materials and translate it into an actionable sourcing plan
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and shifting priorities
- Proficiency with quoting/CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce, ServiceNow, CPQ tools) and Microsoft Excel
