Job Summary
Strategic Sourcing Agent responsible for identifying and establishing long-term vendor relationships, evaluating future needs and vendor capabilities, leveraging volume forecasting, developing supplier scorecards, negotiating contracts, and providing market trends and forecasts to support procurement goals. Role includes researching vendors for long-term relationships, conducting vendor visits as needed, and providing backup support to Procurement Agents while staying informed on market changes and new materials in assigned markets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred, or at least 5 years of purchasing experience in industrial manufacturing
- Previous purchasing experience with Electrical or Steel Commodities in a multi-plant environment
- Good knowledge in (MRP) material requirement planning (Epicor preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Clear and professional communication skills
- International sourcing experience required (IEC and Australian code knowledge a plus)
