Job Summary

Strategic Segment Proposal Engineer develops technical and commercial proposals for ABB Electrification’s focused industry segments (data centers and critical manufacturing facilities) and collaborates with Strategic Account Sales Managers to drive Inquiry to Order. Responsibilities include leading deal strategy and pricing discussions, tailoring solutions from ABB’s portfolio, proactively suggesting cost-reducing options to increase profitability, and assessing project risk to align with ABB standards. The role is remote across the United States, with travel limited to 2-3 trips per year, and requires prior experience in electrical distribution, deal quotations, and cross-functional coordination.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the electrical distribution or related industry
  • Minimum 5 years of sales and project quotations experience
  • Deep technical knowledge of ABB electrical distribution product portfolio and related tools (ABB empower)
  • Experience with EPC, industrial, or data center end users on large-scale projects with multiple work packages
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and communicating with senior management
  • Proficiency with electronic tools (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Salesforce, Teams) and remote work capabilities
  • Ability to travel up to 2-3 times per year
  • Work authorization to work in the US
