Job Summary
Develop and manage key accounts within the assigned North American territory, focusing on utility-scale PV and BESS opportunities. Build and maintain senior-level relationships with IPPs, EPCs, developers, and utilities to execute complex solutions selling approaches. Create long-term strategic plans to capture market share and drive profitable business growth across the energy sector. Actively own the monthly pipeline forecast, address resolution issues, and maintain accurate CRM records with direct management reporting. Collaborate with internal teams to align technical requirements and feed customer data into product development cycles. Attend industry events as required and travel up to 50% domestically, including trips to Rocklin offices and SMA headquarters in Germany. Requires a Bachelor's degree, 5-10 years of sales experience in advanced technology, and proficiency in Salesforce. Base salary ranges from $130,000 to $150,000 annually plus variable compensation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a commercial or technical field
- 5-10 years of successful, demonstrable sales or business development experience in advanced technology industries
- Experience in electrical systems, solar/PV design, or related fields
- Proven track record of managing large, complex customers in cross-functional matrix environments
- Understanding of and prior engagement with utilities, IPPs, end users, and the broader U.S. energy sector
- Understanding of utility grid operations, power plants, energy transmission and delivery, and associated services
- Requires an influential network of senior-level industry contacts
- Solid knowledge of strategic and solutions selling
- Large account management experience
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
- Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency with standard industry management programs (Salesforce, SharePoint)
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a remote team structure
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Candidates located within the continental United States only
