Strategic Procurement Agent

Job Summary
Develop and execute supply strategies for specific suppliers and categories while assisting in creating a RISD-wide strategic sourcing plan. Manage procurement processes, negotiate price agreements, and review transactions for contract compliance. Conduct product and service research to maintain an effective vendor base, analyzing institutional spend and end-user activity to recommend efficient sourcing methods. Lead the RFP and RFI business cycle, negotiate strategic agreements in accordance with state and federal regulations, and implement systems to create operational efficiencies. Serve as the principal liaison for internal clients, suppliers, and constituencies on all procurement matters. Full-time, Regular, Exempt. Hybrid work modality. Bachelor's degree and seven years of related experience required, including four years of contract negotiation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Seven or more years of related experience
- at least four years of contract negotiation experience
- Ability to identify, build, manage, and maintain vendor relationships
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement processes and procedures, which drive operational efficiencies
- Demonstrated contract management and contract compliance skills
- Analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills with particular ability to prioritize work in an environment with multiple and conflicting interests
- Proven project and/or program management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Competency using a variety of computer software
- Commitment to supporting an inclusive work environment and the ability to work respectfully and effectively across differences in background, role, and perspective
- Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion
