Job Summary

Strategic Portfolio Operations Manager (IC) sits at the intersection of Data & Systems Optimization and Tooling Enablement, owning the portfolio tooling ecosystem, data quality management, and reporting for the DET Strategic Portfolio Management program. Responsible for portfolio data validation, governance, and QA, ensuring accurate dashboards and insights across Airtable, Linear, Tableau, and Slack integrations; partners with Pillar Portfolio Managers, senior analysts, Finance, and DET leadership to drive data integrity, governance, and scalable, insight-driven operations. Key duties include data governance and quality program execution, tooling support and frontline user enablement, dashboarding and reporting development, and portfolio planning support. Required skills include hands-on experience with portfolio/work management platforms, strong data management and QA capabilities, data visualization and reporting proficiency, and excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration. Preferred qualifications include automation and integration experience, advanced BI tooling (Tableau, Power BI), and familiarity with data governance practices; certifications (PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, Tableau, Power BI) are a plus. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in portfolio management, program management, business operations, systems administration, business analytics, or related disciplines
  • Hands-on experience with portfolio or work management platforms such as Airtable, Linear, Jira, or similar tools
  • Strong data management and quality assurance experience, including validation, reconciliation, auditing, and maintenance of complex datasets
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work
  • Strong systems-thinking capabilities with the ability to understand dependencies and relationships across tools, processes, and data ecosystems
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into reporting solutions, dashboards, and actionable visualizations
  • Experience working with relational datasets and integrating information from multiple systems to support analysis and decision-making
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
