Job Summary
Undertake research, policy analysis, and legislative monitoring to provide evidence-based advice on issues impacting the district and community. Develop and review Council policies and bylaws, ensuring they align with legislative requirements and community needs. Prepare high-quality reports and recommendations while contributing to long-term policy planning. Work closely with elected members, iwi, stakeholders, and Council teams to translate complex information into practical advice. Report to the Corporate Strategy and Compliance Lead within the Governance, Strategy, and Compliance team.
Required Qualifications
- experience in policy and bylaw development
- strong analytical and written communication skills
- the ability to translate complex information into practical advice
- experience working within local government
- experience working within regulatory environments
- experience working alongside elected members
Desired Qualifications
- experience working within local government, regulatory environments, or alongside elected members will be highly regarded
