Job Summary
Provide business development, stewardship, and communications support to corporate, foundation, and individual donors aligned with private fundraising priorities. Collaborate with program and technical teams to match key needs with potential funders, writing proposals, pitch decks, and stewardship materials. Develop personalized cultivation plans for key partnerships and manage donor records in NXT and SharePoint. Coordinate internal meetings, act as the primary PG&E liaison for Innovation Fund grants, and prepare briefing materials for leadership representation. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of strategic priorities to represent Mercy Corps at donor events and support the Climate: Possible campaign. This 4-month Short Term Assignment requires full-time work with up to 5% international travel to insecure locations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years increasingly responsible work in partnerships and fundraising
- Successful track record managing donor relationships and securing donations in support of social impact work
- Understanding of donor audience motivations, donor cultivation cycle, and decision-making processes
- Ability to work in and across teams to develop and execute strategy for successful partnership experience and engagement
- Proven ability to manage projects and competing priorities
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Applicants must hold independent right to work for the country of hiring
- Full-time employment
- Short Term Assignment (4 months)
- Must be able to travel up to 5% internationally, including to insecure locations where freedom of movement is limited
- Must be able to work in individual housing
