Job Summary
Strategic Initiatives Senior Manager to join Centrica Home Strategy at Centrica/British Gas. Translate long-term strategy into high-impact initiatives, identify disruptive trends, and develop strategies to seize opportunities while mitigating risks. Lead input into Quarterly Strategic Reviews with competitor analysis and scenario planning; present complex strategic concepts to influence senior decision-makers; collaborate with Group strategy leadership for alignment; develop investment papers and support cross-functional business cases; build deep expertise in retail energy markets, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies. Oversee evaluation of mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships; establish measurement frameworks to track success and optimise execution. Build and lead a high-performing strategy team, fostering collaboration, analytical rigour, and innovation. Required capabilities include hypothesis-driven thinking, MECE frameworks, narrative building, advanced financial modelling, and the ability to synthesise market trends and data into actionable strategies; outstanding communication and collaboration skills; customer-focused, future-oriented mindset with an inclusive leadership style to empower others.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in corporate strategy or strategic initiative leadership
- Ability to manage executive stakeholders in complex organisations
- Expertise in energy and services markets and regulatory environments
- Strong strategic toolkit including hypothesis-driven thinking and MECE frameworks
- Excellent financial modelling and business case development skills
- Ability to synthesise market trends, customer insights, and competitor analysis into actionable strategies
