Job Summary
Strategic Gifts Officer to develop and manage planned giving programs, cultivate major gift opportunities, and support diocesan fundraising initiatives. Responsibilities include identifying donors, delivering presentations, collaborating with legal/financial professionals, maintaining donor records and CRM activity, coordinating stewardship and events, developing marketing materials for planned giving, conducting donor research, offering tailored giving options, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Also responsible for managing a donor portfolio with at least ~100 significant donors, coordinating major gift solicitations, preparing proposals, and providing regular progress reports. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree (preferred), 3-5 years of fundraising experience, proficiency with fundraising databases and MS Office, strong communication and relationship-building skills, and willingness to work across diocesan ministries with travel within the diocese.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
- 3-5 years fundraising, marketing, or related experience
- Familiarity with fundraising principals
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to learn donor databases (BlackBaud/Raiser's Edge, Omatic, OneCause, FreeWill, ParishSoft, etc.)
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Valid driver's license
