Job Summary
Analytical, business-oriented Strategic Finance Manager to support financial strategy, forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning. Lead financial modeling, ongoing management reporting (P&L, variance vs. budget, department and product P&L, KPI monitoring, management discussion & analysis), and cross-functional collaboration with Accounting, Marketing, Product, Brokerage, and People teams. Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting financial and operational data to identify trends and opportunities; maintaining vendor-level budgets and forecasts; establishing recurring reporting cadence to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure forecast-actual alignment. Requires 4-6 years of experience, advanced Excel, and a solid understanding of GAAP; strong communication skills; opportunity to leverage BI tools (Looker, Tableau) and SQL; fintech experience and FP&A software familiarity are a plus. The role involves fundraising and M&A work as part of long-term strategy, with an onsite base in New York City.
Required Qualifications
- 4 - 6 years of experience
- Minimum 2+ years at an investment bank, management consulting firm, or similar
- Experience in a disruptive growth stage business, preferably within the fintech industry and/or other high tech enabled businesses
- Advanced Excel skills: demonstrated ability to create and manage complicated spreadsheets; advanced knowledge of excel function
- Strong problem-solving skills, and ability to think outside the box both critically and strategically
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly
- Intermediate understanding of general accounting concepts including GAAP
- Bonus: Experience using BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Omni, etc) and SQL to analyze operating data
- Familiarity with FP&A software and financial automation tools
