Job Summary
Lead delivery of key strategic projects and support programme management across the organisation by managing end-to-end project activities and coordinating delivery. Provide leadership to project managers and teams, performing one-to-one meetings and supporting day-to-day activities within wider programmes. Develop Project Delivery teams by setting performance objectives, providing coaching and mentoring, and facilitating training opportunities. Work with senior leaders, business analysts, and third-party suppliers to plan and deliver projects to agreed standards. Apply appropriate programme and project management techniques, including Agile methodologies, to drive transformation and service development.
Required Qualifications
- Strong leadership skills in a project and/or programme context
- Previous experience in leading and managing delivery of key strategic projects with a multi-disciplinary project delivery team
- Demonstrable experience of formal project management methodologies (preferably including Agile)
- Ability to work directly with customers at all levels, including senior staff, understanding their needs and translating into actions
- Experience in applying technology to solve business problems, either in the education and research sector or in other sectors
- Experience in applying programme and project management techniques to deliver a variety of projects suitable for a Senior Project Manager, including service development and business change
- Experience supporting Programme Management activities including leading key elements of strategic programmes
- Experience leading and line managing a team of Project Delivery roles working on aligned projects
- Experience performing one-to-one meetings with a team and supporting day-to-day activities on projects delivered within the wider programme
- Experience developing Project Delivery teams: providing leadership and setting an example of high performance, agreeing performance & development objectives, reviewing team and individual performance, providing coaching and mentoring, facilitating access to informal and formal training opportunities
- Experience of formal project management methodologies (preferably including Agile)
