Job Summary
Conduct research and analysis to bolster execution of Department of Defense implementation guidance and develop joint doctrine, concepts, and assessments for the Joint Force. Evaluate complex systems, processes, and policies to generate recommendations that enhance Joint Force conceptual understanding and operational effectiveness for the Joint Combatant Commands account. Manage multi-stakeholder forums to capture key outputs for senior leaders while supporting strategic or operational planning on the United States military staff. Requires TS/SCI clearance and 4+ years of experience in national security, strategic competition, or irregular warfare.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience with researching, writing, and providing recommendations pertaining to national security, strategic competition, or irregular warfare
- 4+ years of experience developing, producing, or synchronizing strategic or campaign level assessments
- Experience supporting strategic or operational planning on the United States military staff such as Joint Staff or Combatant Commands
- Knowledge of the Department of Defense and national security issues
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with senior military and civilian leaders
- Ability to work across multiple lines of effort under rigid timelines
- Ability to help manage multi-stakeholder forums and capture key outputs for senior leaders
- TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Department of Defense doctrine, education, concept development and experimentation, training, exercises, and lessons learned
- Experience with the Joint Staff Planning Process or the Joint Operation Planning Process
- Experience using Microsoft Office products
- Master's degree in security studies, international affairs, or public policy
