Job Summary
Manage purchasing for technical and non-technical services, parts, equipment, and raw materials at the North Vancouver site. Create, review, and issue purchase requisitions and orders from request through delivery, while negotiating pricing, resolving supplier issues, and expediting critical materials for production, maintenance, and shutdowns. Coordinate shipping and receiving, reconcile invoices, and support inventory management with stores and operations. Troubleshoot procurement delays, backorders, and urgent plant needs using ERP systems like SAP to ensure timely payment and compliance with corporate standards.
Required Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in heavy, high-volume process and manufacturing combined
- Experience with ERP systems (i.e., SAP) required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks
- Ability to work independently and make decisions autonomously while also collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and software and demonstrate a basic understanding of change management principles
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
- Solves immediate problems; collects and organizes data and information to make decisions; creates plans to address immediate issues; makes good decisions in a timely fashion; considers the needs of working team and sensitive to diversity of differences
- Must be physically capable of spending long hours sitting in an office environment
- Must be 'fit for duty'
- Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Employee is occasionally required to climb stairs/ladders (including vertical)
- Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision
Desired Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Transportation, Business or equivalent related field - Preferred
- Basic Knowledge of process equipment is preferred (e.g., pumps, motors, piping, valves, gaskets, and other materials of construction and terminology)
