Job Summary
Strategic Account Specialist responsible for growing key accounts and expanding services across freight-forwarding, customs, drayage, and warehousing, including RFQ support, tailored proposals, and cross-sell opportunities. Drives account plans, maintains regular client visits and performance reviews, and collaborates with operations to ensure aligned service delivery. Requires experience in freight forwarding or logistics, strong negotiation and communication skills, proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., CargoWise, Salesforce), and ability to manage multiple accounts across trade lanes with a client-focused mindset. Hybrid role based in Des Plaines, IL with responsibilities spanning new business development, account management, pricing strategy, and cross-functional collaboration across service lines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of global logistics and supply chain management.
- Proficient in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
