Job Summary
Strategic Account Manager to manage a block of large group accounts, act as a consultant to retain and grow group health and ancillary business, coordinate with an assigned account executive, conduct employee enrollment meetings, analyze client needs and design/modify benefit offerings, negotiate pricing with Underwriting, and drive group renewals and product enhancements. Role emphasizes relationship-building with brokers, producers, and internal teams (Underwriting, Provider Contracting), requires travel (primarily within Louisiana, with some out-of-state travel), and possession of a Louisiana health and life insurance license. The candidate should be proficient in creating and delivering presentations on self-funded/large group renewals and be capable of coordinating renewal processes, enrollment meetings, and strategic account plans.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Business or a related field is required
- Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree
- 4 years of experience in account management, sales, or client relationship management within the health insurance or employee benefits space is required
- Knowledge of self-funded products and stop loss is strongly preferred
- Licenses and Certifications: A valid Louisiana state health and life insurance license is required
- Certified Health Consultant, HIAA or other industry courses is preferred
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel 70% within the state and 10% out of state including overnight stays
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills
