Job Summary
Strategic Account Director, Healthcare responsible for opening and owning Decagon's healthcare vertical in the US, signing foundational relationships with top health plans, integrated delivery networks, academic medical centers, and leading Life Sciences companies. You will define how Decagon wins in Payer, Provider, and Life Sciences markets, partner with vertical leadership, deployment, product, and engineering to shape healthcare-specific product, trust, safety, and compliance, and set the standard for future healthcare sellers. Key duties include defining and executing the go-to-market strategy for the healthcare vertical across payer/provider/life sciences, closing flagship multi-year 7-figure deals, building deep C-suite relationships, authoring and iterating the healthcare sales playbook (ICP, account plans, qualification rubrics, deal-shape templates, champion enablement, competitive narratives), translating buyer pain into ROI cases, forecasting and reporting on pipeline and revenue, and maintaining expert knowledge of healthcare regulation, payer/provider economics, and the competitive AI landscape. Moderate travel expected.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of enterprise SaaS sales, with at least 4 years selling into healthcare
- demonstrated track record of building business inside named Payer, Provider, and/or Life Sciences accounts
- proven wins in complex, multi-stakeholder, security- and compliance-gated procurement environments
- comfort owning C-suite relationships across long cycles
- playbook builder: authored account plans, qualification frameworks, and deal-shape templates
