Job Summary
Design all aspects of metal building systems, including structural steel, wall and roof panels, secondary members, and stability bracing. Utilize proprietary software for frame, secondary, bracing, crane, mezzanine, and panel analysis to ensure structural integrity. Collaborate with the Detailing Department and other team members to communicate design requirements effectively. Review and check structural drawings for accuracy while adhering to industry codes and standards. Demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Architectural Engineering from an ABET Accredited school
- Proficient verbal and written communication in the English language
- Strong knowledge of structural building codes: IBC, AISC 360, AISC 341, AISC 358, ASCE7, AISI, etc.
- Structural Engineer (S.E.) registration in the United States with the ability to be licensed in Illinois
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times
Desired Qualifications
- A background in Engineering in the Pre-Engineered Metal Building Industry
- Proficiency with some type of metal building design software package
