Job Summary
Lead engineering design projects from ideation through production by developing 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and cost estimates. Perform feasibility assessments, prototyping, and testing to validate design for manufacturability while collaborating across teams to optimize performance. Build working prototypes, execute technical calculations, and collect data for analysis. Stay current on industry trends and support intellectual property management and patent research. Travel up to 10% for testing, field visits, or vendor collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related)
- 2+ years of experience in product design and development
- Hands-on, creative mindset with strong project management and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar), plus Microsoft Office tools
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing methods, and vendor sourcing
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in product design and development
- Experience with hydraulics, CFD modeling, or stormwater/environmental systems
- Familiarity with EPA/stormwater regulations and lab testing procedures
- Background in environmental chemistry or construction tools
- EIT Certification
