Job Summary
Conduct Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Management plan reviews, develop construction plans, and perform design calculations for local government, higher education, and energy sectors. Meet with clients to prepare scopes of work and fee proposals, then coordinate with counties and municipalities while utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D for site designs. Mentor existing staff to build the local team and provide technical expertise in site/civil design, hydrology, and hydraulics. Collaborate with the MS4 Stormwater Engineering Division Lead in Richmond to support projects in the Hampton Roads region, ensuring deliverables meet established performance metrics. Requires a PE license or ability to obtain one within a year, Virginia DEQ certifications, and five years of plan review experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biological Engineering, or a related discipline
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain one within one year of employment
- Virginia DEQ ESC & SWM Plan Reviewer certifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of site plan review experience
- Proven experience interpreting Virginia codes, regulations, and site plans
- Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a dynamic environment
- Strong organizational, time management, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment, while providing constructive feedback and direction to support team goals
- Up to 25% travel
