Job Summary
Supervise employees engaged in receiving, issuing, and storing material while ensuring compliance with established methods and procedures. Review and implement improvements to stores records, maintain adequate stock levels, and conduct periodic physical inventories to clear discrepancies. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and order pickers, originate requisitions, and process sales of scrap material. Make recommendations for employee employment actions and assist in training, while maintaining clean work areas and reporting irregularities. Reside within 30 miles of the Shreveport Service Center. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- High school graduate or equivalent and four years of Stores experience
- Stores experience including material handling
- Stores experience including warehousing
- Stores experience including inventory control
- Ability to supervise personnel
- Ability to direct the work involved in the Stores function
- Ability to keep neat, concise and accurate records
- Ability to meet all vehicle operation requirements as designated by federal and/or state law
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Ability to operate stores material handling equipment
- Physical ability to safely lift and handle material and equipment weighing up to 70 pounds
- Residency within 30 miles of the Shreveport Service Center
