Job Summary
Receive and inspect all incoming shipments of supplies and equipment, ensuring proper storage and organization of all inventory items. Monitor inventory levels to prepare purchase orders when necessary and maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions. Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies, coordinate with the vessel's crew for timely deliveries, and assist with loading and unloading as needed. Follow proper handling procedures for perishable and hazardous items, keep storage areas clean, and report any equipment malfunctions. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing duties.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a maritime or industrial environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of inventory management systems
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects
- Willingness to work extended periods of time at sea
- Valid passport and able to obtain necessary visas for international travel
