Job Summary
Manage the AMC's Pinkham Notch Visitor Center logistics by supervising seasonal staff, overseeing a 25+ vehicle fleet, and coordinating food and supply procurement. Schedule and maintain the vehicle fleet, including light mechanical work, snow removal, and driver training, while ensuring DOT compliance and safety. Act as the primary airlift coordinator for field operations, manage vendor relationships for transportation resources, and handle emergency breakdown responses. Maintain accurate inventory and process interdepartmental charges for food and vehicle use. Perform manual labor, operate wheel loaders, and assume Purchasing and Logistics Manager duties during absences.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Applicable organizational and supervisory experience
- Superior organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong driving skills with large vehicles
- Record of safe and responsible driving
- Detail-oriented and quality-driven
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to perform manual lifting (50+ pounds)
- Ability to work independently and in groups as required, both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexible schedule, including occasional overtime during airlift operations and other busy periods
- Ability to pass a DOT medical exam
- Criminal background record check performed on their name annually with employment contingent upon satisfactory results (for employees who work in a program or facility that serves children, disabled persons, or the elderly)
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with AMC's programs and facilities
- Knowledge of the New Hampshire White Mountain region
- Experience with inventory control and purchasing
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, driver training, and recordkeeping
- Familiarity with basic food safety regulations and practices
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and mechanical aptitude
