Job Summary
Monitor cash registers for accuracy, reconcile daily, and process customer checks, charges, and credits while handling objections and escalations. Direct floor activities, merchandise inventory by color and season, and make pricing recommendations to management. Ensure the store opens and closes on time, oversee housekeeping assignments, and enforce loss prevention by monitoring dressing rooms. Provide work direction to team members, assist customers, and complete daily sales reports. Perform other duties as assigned, including staff payroll processing when required. This role supports Morgan Memorial Goodwill's mission to help individuals achieve independence through work in a retail environment with moderate noise and occasional travel.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous retail experience
- math at an eighth grade level (adding, subtracting, calculating percentages, multiplication)
- speak and understand English
- strong leadership skills
- ability to train, develop and motivate staff
- good team building skills
- strong customer focus
- ability to work with a diverse staff and customer base and with individuals with disabilities
- ability to determine when to direct a problem situation to a supervisor
- Satisfactory results of all required background checks
