Job Summary
Diagnose, document, and repair hardware failures on computers, tablets, and accessories per documented standards. Complete assigned work orders within established timeframes while maintaining minimum quality standards based on clearance item bounce rates. Return products to a near "new in box" state prior to release and accurately complete all service and Point of Sale transactions. Maintain a clean work area and stay updated on retail products and service certifications. Perform duties requiring standing eight hours daily and lifting up to 50 pounds. Work all hours of store operation as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to stand at least eight hours per day
- Ability to reach and to grasp or handle objects, tools or controls
- Ability to frequently walk, stoop or kneel and to occasionally climb stairs or ladders
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to adjust focus
- Color vision, peripheral vision, distance vision, and close vision to read UPC symbols, manuals, etc
- Ability to work schedules that include all hours of store operation and other hours as needed
- Ability to talk and hear
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or government regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively communicate information verbally in one-on-one and small or large group situations to customers and other Micro Center associates
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form
