Job Summary
Oversee daily store operations including opening and closing procedures, managing cash registers, and ensuring accurate cash drawer reconciliations. Lead and supervise store associates by assigning tasks for stocking shelves, operating registers, and maintaining cleanliness while training new employees on safety protocols. Monitor inventory levels, conduct stock counts, and manage product displays to minimize loss and ensure FIFO rotation. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting patrons, resolving complaints, and coaching team members on sales strategies. Maintain compliance with health and safety standards, emergency procedures, and local regulations throughout the shift. Work flexible schedules including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnights with weekly pay starting at $14.75 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a retail or convenience store environment
- Some supervisory or leadership experience
- Ability to stand extended periods (up to 8 hours) during shifts
- Capable of lifting boxes and products, maximum 50 lbs., frequently 10-25 lbs., and carrying items across the store
- Ability to bend, squat, and reach for products on shelves, both high and low
- Ability to climb a ladder as needed
- Ability to walk throughout the store and between departments regularly
- Ability to handle cash, operate registers, and bag items efficiently
- Must be comfortable with repetitive tasks such as scanning items, restocking, and organizing products
- Able to work in cold environments, including freezers and refrigerators
- Mental focus and stamina to perform physical tasks consistently and efficiently throughout the shift
- Ability to handle emergency situations
- Ability to work alone, with minimal supervision, during overnight shifts
- Food Handler Certification or similar certification for handling food, especially if the store sells prepared food items
- Alcohol Service Certification (where applicable) for stores selling alcohol and tobacco
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in business, management, or retail
- Previous experience in cash handling, inventory management, and customer service
- Basic knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory software, and scheduling tools
- Familiarity with basic office software (e.g., Word, Excel)
- Open availability a plus
