Job Summary
Store Manager in Training at Dollar Tree, responsible for on-the-job training to learn profitable store operations, merchandising, display techniques, and signage to create an inviting atmosphere. Duties include recruiting and hiring associates, developing staff through training, overseeing store activities, ensuring compliance with laws and policies, opening/closing procedures, implementing corporate-directed merchandising and operating directives, protecting assets, delivering high levels of customer service, and maintaining a positive, safe work environment. Required skills include prior retail management experience (preferred), hardlines/variety merchandise exposure, strong productivity management in freight processing, and excellent communication, interpersonal, and written abilities; physically capable of lifting 30-50 lbs and performing typical store duties. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years prior retail management experience (preferred)
- Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise; BIG BOX experience (preferred)
- Strong productivity management in freight processing (required)
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills (required)
- Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment (required)
- Must be able to lift 30 to 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder height and perform related physical duties (required)
