Job Summary
Store Manager in Warroad, MN at Dollar General responsible for the management of all employees and the effective planning and implementation of store processes including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing and support. Duties include recruiting, selecting and retaining qualified employees; training, performance evaluations, and coaching; determining pay rate and advancement; communicating performance and safety expectations; ensuring proper staffing and opening/closing; analyzing operating statements for sales, profitability, and inventory issues; managing stock replenishment, merchandising presentation, pricing, and signage; maintaining inventory accuracy; ensuring cash control and security; delivering superior customer service leadership; maintaining a clean and safe store environment; and adhering to company policies and procedures. Qualifications emphasize reading/comprehension of manuals, cash handling, inventory, merchandising, communication, recruitment, compliance with labor laws, and bilingual Spanish preference. Education: high school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred; experience: one year of management in retail preferred. Working conditions include frequent standing, lifting up to 55 pounds, occasional climbing, and travel to other stores; benefits include health insurance options, 401(k), paid leave, and more. The role is full-time with a minimum annual salary of $53,880 and a minimum with experience of $56,570.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
- Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance and internal processes
- Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices (deposits, store keys, SAFE program, etc.)
- Good organization skills with attention to detail
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where limited standardization exists
- Ability to perform IBM cash register functions to generate reports
- Certain store locations may give preference to bilingual Spanish speakers
