Job Summary
Store Manager at Dollar General in Mora, MN, responsible for managing all store employees and the execution of store processes including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing and support. Key duties include recruiting, selecting and retaining qualified employees, conducting training and performance evaluations, setting pay recommendations, communicating expectations, opening/closing the store, monitoring operating statements and inventory, ensuring proper stock levels, executing merchandising and pricing strategies, maintaining inventory accuracy and cash handling integrity, providing superior customer service leadership, ensuring a clean and safe store environment, and adherence to SOPs, policies, and legal requirements. Requires strong knowledge of retail operations, staffing, compliance with federal/state labor laws, safety practices, and effective interpersonal and leadership skills; bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at certain locations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (strongly preferred)
- One year of management experience in a retail environment (preferred)
- Knowledge of cash handling and cashier accountability
- Ability to read and interpret documents; strong mathematical aptitude
- Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to recruit, interview, hire, counsel and terminate employees in compliance with policies and laws
- Ability to supervise and develop staff
- Bilingual Spanish speakers preferred at certain locations
