Job Summary
Store Manager responsible for overseeing all store employees and operations including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, staffing, opening/closing, inventory management, cash handling, merchandising, and ensuring safety and policy compliance. Lead efforts to maintain proper staffing, drive sales, monitor profitability and turns, and ensure adherence to company procedures while fostering customer service excellence and a secure store environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Good organization skills with attention to detail
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where limited standardization exists
- Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance and internal processes
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- Bilingual Spanish speakers preferred in some locations
- Knowledge of store security practices (SAFE program) and cash control procedures
- Understanding of basic retail concepts (ordering cycles, peak inventories, merchandise flow)
- Ability to supervise, train, and develop staff
- Compliance with federal and state labor laws and company policies
