Job Summary
Oversees store operations and staff at a Dollar General location, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, scheduling, and adherence to cash controls and safety policies. Responsible for inventory management, merchandising standards, pricing and signage, opening/closing procedures, and maintaining a clean, secure, and customer-focused store environment. Leads achievement of sales targets, analyzes operating statements for trends, and ensures compliance with company policies and federal/state labor laws. Requires strong communication, supervisory, and problem-solving skills and may involve bilingual Spanish-speaking preference in some locations. Position is full-time and on-site at the Lacy Lakeview, TX store.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
- Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance and internal processes
- Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices (deposits, store keys, SAFE program, etc.)
- Demonstrates leadership and ability to train and develop staff
- Ability to ensure compliance with federal labor laws and company policies
