Job Summary
Store Manager at Dollar General in Dickson, TN responsible for managing all store employees across planning, ordering, stocking, merchandising, selling, staffing, and safety. Leads recruiting, training, performance evaluations, and personnel decisions; ensures proper staffing, opening/closing, adherence to budgets and policies, and cashier accountability. Oversees inventory levels, order accuracy, and stock replenishment; maintains store presentation, pricing, and signage; drives customer service excellence and a secure, well-organized shopping environment. Requires strong supervision, communication, and retail operations knowledge; bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred in some locations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of management experience in a retail environment
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures
- Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- Ability to read and interpret documents
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices
