Job Summary
Store Manager responsible for leading all store operations at Dollar General in Albany, LA. Oversees recruitment, training, and retention of employees; conducts performance evaluations; determines staffing and pay rate recommendations; ensures safety, security, and policy compliance; manages opening/closing routines, inventory management (BSR/cycle counts), and merchandising presentation; maintains cash handling integrity and cashier accountability; drives sales through effective customer service leadership, signage, pricing, and product presentation; ensures store performance through analysis of sales, profitability, and shrink, while coordinating with corporate policies and procedures. Strong emphasis on leadership, communication, and problem-solving to develop staff and deliver a clean, well-organized store that meets company standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- Ability to read and interpret documents and operate cash registers
- Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to recruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff
- Ability to ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws and company policies
