Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day store operations, supervise all store associates, and manage the full retail facility. Screen, hire, discharge, and train employees while scheduling hours to support at least 48 weekly work hours. Increase sales, maintain profit structure, and reduce expenses through active personal selling and inventory management. Open and close the store, handle merchandise receiving and transfers, and ensure all personnel adhere to company policies. Manage store funds, prepare payroll, and maintain accurate records and facility safety. Submit suggestions to the District Manager and implement advertising communications from the marketing department.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of successful retail experience
- 5+ years of progressive and successful operational leadership experience
- 3+ years of successful store/general management of a retail business
- As salaried associates, the store managers are required to work at least 48 hours per week and are expected to respond to emergency situations and busy seasons (i.e. Christmas, rodeos, etc.)
- Job requires employee to remain on his or her feet in an upright position for continuous periods of time without being able to leave the work area
- Job requires that the employee regularly pick up objects
- Job regularly requires employee to reach for objects
- Job regularly requires employee to bend forward by bending at the waist or by bending the legs and spine
- Job requires perception of speech or the nature of sounds in the air
- Job requires expressing ideas by the spoken word
- Ability to comprehend basic instructions
- Ability to understand the meanings of words and effectively respond
- Ability to interpret documents
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in Western related industries
- Successful history in retail sales roles
- College degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience
